Weird.  Last night, I was cruising Netflix looking to watch a movie while preparing dinner.  Claudia & Mariana were at the story time and I was home with lil’ man who was taking a nap.  I chose Back to the future 2 which the date they were traveling to in the future was today.  I text my mom and pointed it out to her but apparently it has been a big deal and on the news at home.  Ok, that’s great but finding it by accident yesterday was kind of weird.

Today, lil’ man is still sick.  Running the fever although today it seems to come and go.  He woke up with one, right around 100F.  A little Ibuprofen and he was good to go.  Claudia took Mariana to school and then went into town to meet up with the lawyer again.  It is probably wise to send the sensible one to that meeting as opposed to the one who gets really cranky looking.  Plus, Claudia’s spanish -vs- my spanish????  Ok, she wins.  Was me and little guy all morning and it was rather fun because as he got better…he got playful.  We spent the whole morning on the patio crawling around and playing.  Harassing the dogs as they came.  Oh, he loves dogs!  His voice drops and it is as if he growls and them but baby talking.  Really sweet.  Then he gets bold and crawls/walks towards them as if he wants to touch them but the second they turn….whoa!  Back to Mami or Papi whoever is closest.  I rolled the dice and gave him his morning bottle just praying it would stay down…it did.  Then I attempted his normal breakfast of hot chocolate with bread.  Ok, he only ate about 1/2 of that but it also stayed down.  Around 10, I put him down for his first nap and it was perfect…

Parenting…who said it was hard?!

Ok, the afternoon was bound to come.  Claudia came home from her adventures.  Personally I think she is the problem.  He sees her and turns into Chucky (“Child’s Play” evil doll from that horror movie)  Suddenly, the fussiness was back and Papi was good for nothing.  Fever also came back a bit as well as epic diaper disasters.  Loaded up Tylenol and he was better again for awhile until the afternoon nap rolled around.  Keep in mind this week since the fever has been off and on, when he cried, we would check on him.  Well, now I think he is used to that again.  We had a great idea, after I brought Mariana back from school, we would all lay down at the same time and take a nap.  Claudia and I haven’t been sleeping well since he has been waking up every 2 hours.  A nap sounded fantastic!  I personally enjoyed every second of that 300 second nap.  You read that right.  He was asleep for 5 minutes and woke up crying…then when nobody responded, the crying turned into screaming.  Keep in mind that we had just put him down.  He was all drugged up, fever was gone.  Diaper was fresh.  He just decided nap time was done.  We left him….figuring he would wear himself out.  He was after-all…tired.  5 minutes shouldn’t be enough.  He cried for an hour.  When we finally gave up and went to get him…he had a clean diaper and no fever.  He just didn’t want to nap.  I dont know!

Fever was gone.  Checked it out and it was a neat 98.6…perfect because we didn’t have dinner plans and Claudia said something about pizza.  So we went for pizza and it was wonderful.  He ate well and was rather funny.  We had a good time.  This evening he was acting so normal.  Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Lawyer issue:  Today’s topic, the middle name (Francis).  Apparently not only will my son, by Colombian standards, have to be Chase Jr. for the rest of his life but now we are learning that he may not have a middle name.  ~I know some of you have seen the middle name and have thought “lucky break for that kid!”  To you people I must say…that’s not nice!  Francis was my grandpa’s name and our Popes name.~  But yes, you read that correctly.  Now they are saying that on some form that we signed, it doesn’t list him with a middle name.  I see…our fault!  With the multitude of forms that we’ve had to sign, I don’t know, perhaps it happened but I tell you what, I want to see this alleged form.  So once learning this, I kept referring to my kid as Santiago No-Middle-Initial Chase Jr.  Now, once again, it may be too late to fix it.  I’m not sure what that means.  Possibly it might be too hard so it is better that we live with it as not to cause someone to do their jobs.  What were we thinking?  So, more drama.  We knew it would come but didn’t how.

Anyway, a little bit of levity now.  Question?  Does anybody know how to liquify an Oreo cookie?

Those hands approached an unexpecting Papi and grabbed his Kaki shorts...disaster. Hands restrained, Santi thought he was in trouble as I waited wipes to clean the disaster.
